NCS Juniors Win Upsets at Capitol Hill Classic

Despite an influx of players from New York to Georgia, NCS juniors more than held their own at the Capitol Hill Classic Bronze Nov. 11-13, 2011.

In the GU 15 division, Taylor Nides won all five of her matches.  She upset a nationally-ranked New Yorker ranked nearly 50 spots ahead of her in a thrilling five game match to secure the tournament championship. Isabel Young took third place.

It was Ryan’s first tournament win! Playing in his first ever tournament, Alex Snape took third place, an excellent start for a novice tournament player.

In BU 15, Zach Najera took third place in full 16-player draw by winning a tight five-game match. It was Zach’s second tournament, an incredible result.

In BU 17, Evan Brown lost a tough five-game semifinal match to the tournament winner, but won his third place match.
