Overview

National Capital Squash (NCS) thanks New York Squash for advice on how to build our new league webpages and improve our league.

NCS runs one of the largest singles team leagues in the country, with over 200 players competing in five divisions for both men and women. The winter league season runs from November-March with weekly matches at clubs around the National Capital region.

There are divisions for all skill levels, from beginner and low intermediate to elite play in the premier division.

How to Join a Team

Contact your club’s team captain to join a League team roster. (To figure out who your club team’s captain is for each skill level, check the Team Page or ask your club pro.) Fall-Winter League Teams form in October, though teams may add players throughout the season.

If you can’t find a team at your club, fill out this online form by Nov. 20, 2011.  After that date, send an email to the VP for League, league@nationalcapitalsquash.org, with your US SQUASH skill rating and where you live and work.  We will attempt to place you on a team that needs players.

Match Schedule

In early November, the season schedule will be posted on the Leagues Online webpage.

Eligibility

League players must be current US SQUASH and National Capital Squash members.  If you are a US SQUASH member of another local district squash association, you must also pay NCS dues to play in the league.  Click here to add NCS dues to your current US SQUASH membership.

If your club does not yet have a team at a particular skill level, you may form a team following these guidelines:

  • Get approval of your club pro.
  • Your club must have courts to host matches.
  • Declare your intent. Email league@nationalcapitalsquash.org to let us know you’re starting a team.
  • Find players. By Oct 22, 2011, you must have at least seven players registered on your online roster to be eligible to compete.
